Following the SESAME workshop on structural Molecular Biology (Cyprus, December 6-7 2000), participants from several SESAME member countries began planning for several future activities. In Morocco SMB research in now starting with some groups and many Universities and Institutes are becoming aware of the importance of SMB research. The present workshop aims to bring scientists from Maghreb (Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria), together with scientists from Mediterranean and Middle East countries as part of the SESAME project. This workshop will be held in Casablanca in September/October 2002. It will be organised by Professor Abdelaziz Soukri together with SESAME Interim Council member Professor Abdessalam Houmada within the RUPH (Materials Sciences) network. The workshop will be sponsored by University Hassan II and UNESCO.
