In January of each year, the Technical Director will be issuing a calendar that shows the dates during which beam time will be available. This timetable will be defined on a yearly basis, half a year in advance of the scheduled operational period.
Beam time is distributed as follows:
- 75% of the available beam time (after allowing for use by Participatory Research Teams) for General Users;
- up to 25% of the available beam time (after allowing for use by Participatory Research Teams) for in-house use of SESAME.
The percentage of time reserved for Participatory Research Teams is negotiated with the SESAME Director on a case-by-base basis.
Up to 15% of available beam time may be allocated to Industrial Users.
