Celebrated every 10 November, the World Science Day for Peace and Development highlights the significant role of science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. We are happy to mark this date by announcing the first edition of the SESAME Teachers’ Workshop, to be held online from 17 to 27 January 2022.

The science community at SESAME, collectively with LAAAMP (Lightsources for Africa, the Americas, Asia, Middle East and Pacific) and the CLS (Canadian Light Source) join forces to raise the awareness of science teachers about international science research facilities such as SESAME and to support science education efforts.

The World Science Day for Peace and Development was first proclaimed by UNESCO in 2001 and since then has been celebrated worldwide every 10 November.
