The ID11 Helmholtz-SESAME Beamline (HESEB) is a new state-of-the-art beamline in the soft X-ray regime, which will soon be open to users at SESAME.

SESAME is glad to announce the first edition of the "HESEB soft X-ray lectures & training course"  that will be held at SESAME on May 8-9, 2023. The lectures, which will take place on 8 May, will be transmitted online and may therefore be followed by a large number of participants. They will be followed on 9 May, by a hands-on, in-person training session at the beamline in SESAME, that will be limited to five participants.

Both target prospective users of the HESEB beamline and provide a theoretical and experimental knowledge base in soft X-ray science. Please visit this page for more information.

If you plan to use the HESEB beamline, you are encouraged to apply to take part in the event. The five successful applicants selected to take part in the hands-on, in-person training at SESAME will receive a daily allowance, and their travel and accommodation expenses at SESAME’s Guest House will be fully covered. The deadline for applications is March 26, 2023.
