A two-day training workshop on Synchrotron Radiation Applications and Correlated Multimodal Imaging in Life Sciences, is set to be hosted at SESAME. The event will bring together researchers and innovators at SESAME’s state-of-the-art facility in Allan, Jordan—fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and hands-on experience at the cutting edge of life sciences research. The workshop which will take place on May 11th-12th, 2025, aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of synchrotron radiation and its applications in life sciences, as well as the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge imaging technologies. The training is open to both in-person and online participants, offering flexibility for a wider range of attendees.

Training Program and Participation Options

  •  In-Person Participation (Limited slots available):
    • Day 1 (May 11): The first day will feature lectures available both in-person and online, providing an introduction to synchrotron radiation and its applications in various scientific fields.
    • Day 2 (May 12): Participants attending in person will have the unique opportunity to engage in hands-on training at SESAME’s BEATS beamline, guided by SESAME’s beamline scientists. Hands-on training has limited seats, alternatively we also have proposal writing training conducted by experts.
  •  Online Participation (Unlimited slots):
    • Online participants will be able to attend the lectures on May 11, learning from a range of experts in synchrotron radiation and its diverse applications.

How to Apply

Researchers interested in attending the workshop, either in person or online, must complete the Synchrotron Workshop Application Form. For those requesting travel support, additional forms for the COMULISglobe Travel Grant or the Euro-BioImaging Node Staff Travel Grant must be completed.

All application materials should be sent to comulissociety@gmail.com.

This workshop represents a unique opportunity for researchers in the region to engage with the latest advancements in synchrotron radiation and multimodal imaging technologies. SESAME encourages all interested individuals to apply early to secure their participation in this important training event.
