SESAME, in collaboration with the Richard Lounsbery Foundation in the USA, is pleased to announce travel and subsistence fellowships for scientists from the SESAME Members (Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority and Turkey) wishing to carry out short-term research (30 days) at a synchrotron light facility in Europe or the USA.
SESAME is pleased to once more announce travel and subsistence fellowships for scientists from the SESAME Members (Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Palestinian Authority and Turkey) wishing to carry out short-term research (30 days) at a synchrotron light facility in Europe or the USA. They are being awarded thanks to a grant put at the disposal of SESAME by the Richard Lounsbery Foundation in the USA.
The fellowships are designed to prepare scientists for use of SESAME’s Phase I beamlines when the laboratory comes into operation in late 2015/early 2016. These beamlines are the IR (infrared spectromicroscopy), MS (materials science), MMX (Macro-molecular Crystallography), and XAFS/XRF (X-ray absorption fine structure/X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy) beamlines.
Applicants may be scientists with less than 5 years post-doctoral experience, or pre-doctoral scientists who have completed at least 2 years of their PhD and are working on their research project.
