The fourth International Pan American Light Sources meeting on Agriculture (PALSA 2025) is set to take place on Monday, May 20th 2025 online. The second part of this event will be a hybrid school in Saskatchewan, Canada, from August 20th to 22nd, 2025. As part of its Pre-PALSA Lecture Series, the African Light Source is hosting a session focused on “Advancing Sustainable Agriculture and Food Research”, which will exhibit cutting-edge research that uses synchrotron technology to advance agriculture and food research.
The first lecture titled, "So, you want to do Infrared Spectroscopy at a synchrotron?" will be streamed live on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 16:00 Jordan time.
Speaker: Dr. Scott Rosendahl, Senior Beamline Scientist, Responsible (Mid IR) Canadian Light Source.
This program is designed to support capacity building and foster collaboration among synchrotron users. The first lecture will introduce the advantages of synchrotron infrared spectroscopy and will highlight how this technique is driving innovation in areas such as agriculture, environmental research, materials science, and cultural heritage.
All SESAME users are encouraged to attend and to network with the global light source community to gain insight about cutting-edge analytical methods.
