On 19th September 2014, a new scientific collaboration agreement was signed between SOLEIL and Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East (SESAME).

Eight high-school teachers in physics from 4 Members of SESAME (Iran, Israel, Jordan and Palestinian Authority) were among the 54 teachers taking part in the CERN High School Teacher Programme 2014 that has held at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva (Switzerland) from 6 - 25 July 2014.
On 29 December 2013, after an absence of two weeks during which they carried out their duties away from their normal place of work, the staff of SESAME returned to their offices and laboratories on the premises of SESAME where work leading to the start of commissioning of the booster is steadily being resumed.
In a special session on 25 November 2013 during its 23rd meeting held on the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan, the SESAME Council paid homage to Gustav-Adolf (alias Gus) Voss who passed away on 5 October 2013.
The first IMAN1-LinkSCEEM User’s Meeting took place on Wednesday 12th of March, 2014 (9:00-14:00) at IMAN1 Center in Amman – King Hussein Business Park Building #25.
At its 23rd meeting in November 2013, the SESAME Council appointed Giorgio Paolucci Scientific Director of SESAME.
