The International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) has launched its 2019 photo contest, which is an annual event that provides imagery to support the celebration of the International Day of Light (16 May of each year).

Three Cameroonian scientists from the University of Douala who were awarded a one-month fellowship from the technical cooperation programme of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) were placed in Jordan for their training.

One of Jordan’s delegates to the SESAME Council and the Scientific Director of SESAME each gave a talk at the 4th Cooperation Workshop held in Ramallah (Palestine) on 7-10 April.

Today (16th April 2019), the President of the University of Jordan and the Director of SESAME signed an MoU to further expand collaboration between the two parties.

The Director of SESAME, Professor. Khaled Toukan, was one of the numerous foreign speakers at the Global Forum for Higher Education and Scientific Research (GFHS) held in Cairo on 4-6 April.

Yesterday and the day before this (31 March and 1 April), An-Najah National University in Nablus (Palestine) was host to the 2nd International Workshop on Synchrotron Radiation and Applications.

On March 24, thirty-six students and four teachers from the Lycée Français International de Dubaï visited SESAME for the 2nd time during the last 2 years. The visit began with an introduction to SESAME’s activities given by the Coordinator, Microtron & Machine Diagnostics Beamline.

On March 24 and 28, SESAME welcomed experts from more than 40 countries worldwide. They visited SESAME as part of their participation in the 2019 European Research Reactor conference.

On March 10th and 11th SESAME hosted the first face-to-face Panel Review Committee meeting.
Today (29/3/2019), the Diamond-SESAME Fellowship Programme enhancing the relationship between SESAME and Diamond Light Source marks its last day.
